Jackson is an emerging projection designer and digital media artist with backgrounds in theatre performance and live video production. Skilled in media design for theatre and live events, media server programming, video editing, motion graphic design, live video direction, and video hardware systems, he has designed content for the Minnesota State Fair, Cities 97.1 Basilica Block Party, Trampled by Turtles, Freestyle Productions, Eagan Summer Community Theatre, Hamline University Marketing/Communications, and others. He's programmed theatrical projections for the Guthrie Theater, Theater Mu, Mixed Blood Theatre, History Theatre, and New Dawn Theatre Company.
Jackson views design as a dramaturgical endeavor. He believes every choice matters, and that every piece of content should contribute to the story. He implements design work using tools like QLab, WATCHOUT, Isadora, After Effects, Trapcode, Photoshop, Illustrator, Final Cut Pro, Vectorworks, AppleScript, Python, and Raspberry Pi. He also knows his way around a broadcast control room.
When he's not working on a show, Jackson coaches Dramatic Interpretation, Duo Interpretation, and Prose Interpretation for the Eagan High School speech team.
